Cov Home Repair Crews
Covenant is committed to being a long-term partner in our community’s recovery
In the immediate aftermath of the storm, Covenant was on-the-ground running a Command Center to coordinate, supply, and deploy over 1000 flood response volunteers. Together we helped neighbors clear water and muck from their homes and remove wet sheetrock, flooring, and furniture. Although we have completed this initial “emergency” response phase, Covenant is dedicated to walking beside our neighbors as they take the necessary steps to get their lives and homes back to normal.
Our next phase of flood response, Cov Crews, is designed to connect neighbors in need of home repair assistance with a volunteer work crew to complete the repair.
We will be focusing our response toward home owners without flood insurance within our own community. To receive services, you must be the homeowner and the home must be your primary place of residence. Once you make a request, Covenant will follow up with you to schedule your Crew and talk with you about your needs. (Requests outside of our mission field will be forwarded to the United Methodist Church in the location of the request for follow-up.)
Crews, made up of church and community volunteers, will deploy Sundays from 12-4 PM (end time is flexible.) Each crew will have an experienced Crew Boss on site to direct the team. Regardless if you have experience or if you are a novice, we have a place for you to serve. (When signing up, you will have the opportunity to let us know if there are other days of the week that you can serve.) All volunteers are required to complete an electronic Participant Liability Release. It’s easy to complete on your device and will remain in effect for one calendar year.
If you need repairs completed, or you would like to volunteer to be part of a Cov Crew take the next step.
